Beyond the Valley by Destiny Blaine

Beyond the Valley

Victoria McCoy is one tough and wild female who doesn’t need help from anyone. She breaks horses for a living and can do it in record time. With a sad secret in her heart, she goes to the man who she knew from long ago. She is surprised to see lust in his eyes and she’s not sure what to do about it. She’s still innocent and is a little frightened by the sexuality that comes from Jonathan. Can he be kind and gentle enough to break this wild woman?

Jonathan Winewood hires the best to break his horse, but little does he know the woman is from his past. The only thing he sees in her is a strong, sassy and brave woman; until he learns that she has a sad secret. He wants her for his own, but if he pushes her too hard, he could lose her before it all starts.

BEYOND THE VALLEY by Destiny Blaine is another hit! This book has a wonderful tangle of passion and understanding all intertwined. I began to bond with the main female character immediately. Victoria is so tough and head strong, you want to be just like her. Jonathan is a perfect match for her. He knows how to break through her tough exterior. Jonathan is one sexy cowboy, who had me tingling in the first few pages. Ms. Blaine has a wonderful way to her writing that is so smooth and captivating. I knew there was something in Victoria’s past that was going to be a shock, and when it finally plays out I was surprised. I certainly didn’t see it playing out the way it did, but I applaud Ms. Blaine for the twist that she put in, and they way it played out. I will definitely tell my friends to check her out.

Blind Faith by Claire Thompson

Blinded, broken and scarred from a car accident, Aidan tries to rebuild his life, only to be assaulted by depression and loneliness. Aidan believes that he is worthless and destined to live alone for the rest of his life. Having alienated all his friends, there is only one hope.

Zane has always been a free spirit, unable to stay idle for too long. Whenever the need arose Zane left for more exciting things, never considering anyone's feelings but his own. After years of being on the move, this may be his last chance to redeem himself and commit. Will Zane's gypsy nature allow him to pledge himself to the one man who accepts him for who he is?

BLIND FAITH is filled with angst, character growth and the horrifying experience of being less than whole. Thompson artfully teaches us that even when you lose something as precious as sight, life still goes on. The love that Aidan and Zane feel for each other has endured for years undiminished. I was entranced by the passion and trust the characters displayed toward each other and life. Zane's ability to become a caretaker and Aidan's desire to be the same man he was made the story uplifting and inspiring. Thompson skillfully displayed human strength and weakness at the base of all of us and has truly set a new standard in romance with BLIND FAITH.

A Year of You by Adra Steia

Mattie Smith had easy instructions; all she had to do was get the money and get away. Mattie knows that things in her life are never easy, so she isn’t all that surprised when she has to fake being someone else to get that money. She has to pretend to be a long lost daughter of the McKendricks. Mattie is faced with several obstacles― her parents don’t believe her and her sister hates her. Mattie will have to prove herself time and time again to get the money and pay off her step-brother. If she doesn’t, her real family could be in trouble.

Brant West is a close friend of the McKendricks, and is supposed to marry the youngest of the McKendricks’ daughters; but when a woman shows up posing as Elaine, the missing daughter, he is tossed back into his past. West and Elaine were best friends during their younger days, but when Elaine disappeared he spent his time looking for her. Now he has to decide if this woman is his long lost friend or another woman just wanting the family fortune.

A YEAR OF YOU by Adra Steia is a phenomenal read. This book will grab you and not let go. I read this story as fast as I could and kept craving more. Let me tell you, if you’re the flowers and hearts type, this isn’t the story for you. If you like a real life and a somewhat dark read this book will keep you hooked. I knew right from the start that Mattie was going to have a hell of a time getting the money that she desperately needed to keep her loved ones safe, but the twists and turns Ms. Steia put in this book were beyond my imagination. As you read along and see the ups and downs that Mattie experiences you feel the need to jump in and back her up. The passion and hatred in this book makes it so much more believable. I was impressed by Mattie’s trials in life and West’s attempts to get over the little girl he lost so long ago. With an evil step-brother after Mattie there is never a dull moment. I hope I get to read more stories from Ms. Steia in the future.
